What this page is for
Our buying guides and product pages make claims about range, speed, load capacity and other specs. This page explains exactly where those numbers come from, so you can weigh them accordingly — instead of assuming every number was independently lab-tested by NovaNest when it wasn't.
What we measure or verify directly
- Order fulfillment and shipping times, from our own dispatch records.
- Whether a warranty claim was honored, from our own support history.
- Which payment methods actually work at checkout (we test this against our live Stripe account before publishing a payment badge — see our warranty and returns policy).
What comes from the manufacturer, not from us Not independently verified
Motor power, top speed, battery capacity, claimed range, load capacity, weight, charge time and water-resistance ratings listed on our product pages are the manufacturer's published specifications. We have not run controlled, repeatable tests (closed-course range tests, braking-distance tests, load tests) against these figures ourselves.
"Real-world range" guidance in our buying guides (for example, "expect the low end of the claimed range") reflects general, widely-reported behavior for this category of vehicle — batteries losing capacity under load, hills, cold weather and higher speeds — not a NovaNest-run test of a specific unit.
Real range: what NovaNest doesn't measure yet
NovaNest does not publish its own range, speed or braking measurements. The figures on our product pages are the manufacturer's published specifications. If NovaNest ever runs a documented in-house test, this page will be updated to reflect it — including the unit tested, the method, the date, and its limitations.
How we compare products
Comparison tables on our collection pages (for example, scooters or dirt bikes side by side) use the specifications each manufacturer publishes for that model, placed next to each other so you can compare them directly. We don't adjust, round favorably, or omit a competing spec to make one model look better.
Questions about a specific claim
If something on a product page or in a guide looks off, or you want the source for a specific number, contact us and we'll either point you to the manufacturer documentation or correct the page.
